What does Angie Major Think?…..A Quick Q&A
Favourite Event Location?
Celtic Manor, Newport, Wales – this is the best conference hotel in the UK. The event spaces allows delegates to flow easily. The accommodation is lovely and the spa has the biggest jacuzzi I’ve ever seen. The food is fantastic, even at a gala dinner for 500 people it was so tasty and the conference team are an absolute pleasure to work with.
Favourite Dinner Entertainment?
The Undercover Artists, singing waiters who took nearly 500 people by complete surprise. I was blown away by the first two songs so much I got a little emotional. Then they upped the tempo and managed to pull off the biggest conga I’ve ever witnessed. That takes some doing.
Biggest Event Challenge?
Having to move large blocks of delegates to alternative accommodation, not once but twice, due to a venue having to take back rooms for renovation purposes. It came out well in the end, we pushed the venue to pull out all the stops to make the event memorable for our guests, so they felt more like VIPs instead.
Favourite Part of an Event?
Choosing the food menu. It is tougher than you think! For big events the venues will bring out the Head Chef or in some cases the Group Culinary Director and they will really make you think (and taste). We learn more every time we do it and we always try to ensure our Client is able to join us to give their opinion.
